I
created these fun flashcards with my 5 year old. I was wanting him to
learn the difference in the coins and start learning how to count money.
So he helped me make these cute flashcards - yes using real money - out of some
blank playing cards and playing card box kit that came in my Club Stamp kit this month. All
materials shown in this project are from Club
Scrap.

Supply list:
Playing Cards (blank): Club Scrap October Wild West Kit
Playing Card Box (blank): Club Scrap October Wild West Kit
Rubberstamps: Club Scrap
Inks
Adhesive
Glue dots
Various coins
1.
1. Take
blank playing card box and blank playing cards, ink all edges using a sponge.
2. Rubberstamp
images and words onto box.
3. Fold up box and adhere side and bottom closed.
4. Take
playing cards and stamp images on both sides, leaving space on one side for
attaching coins.
5. Stamp the
coin amount on one side of card and adhere the coins that equal that amount on
the otherside.
6. Now the
child can look at the coins on one side and determine the amount, turn card
over to see if they got it correct or not.
2. Since my son is young and just beginning, I started very simple with variations like this:
|
3. 1 penny = 1¢ |
1 nickel = 5¢ |
1 dime = 10¢ |
|
4. 2 pennies = 2¢ |
2 nickels = 10¢ |
2 dimes = 20¢ |
|
5. 3 pennies = 3¢ |
3 nickels = 15¢ |
3 dimes = 30¢ |
|
6. 4 pennies = 4¢ |
4 nickels = 20¢ |
1 nickel + 5 pennies = 10¢ |
|
7. 5 pennies = 5¢ |
5 nickels = 25¢ |
1 nickel + 1 dimes = 15¢ |
|
8. 1 quarter = 25¢ |
2 nickels + 1 dime = 20¢ |
1 nickel + 2 dimes = 25¢ |
Good luck and have fun!!
